PARIS – Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles honored gold medalist Rebeca Andrade with a bow on the podium after winning silver and bronze respectively in the floor exercise final at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As Andrade’s name echoed throughout the arena, Brazilian fans gave her a standing ovation. She now holds two Olympic golds and a total of six medals.

Biles and Chiles, who were all part of an all-black podium, discussed ways to show respect for Andrade and Chiles suggested bowing as an idea. The duo agreed it was the best way possible to acknowledge Andrade’s achievement in gymnastics.

According to Biles, “It was just the right thing to do”. She further noted that “it felt like we needed to give her flowers for everything she has done for the sport and us.” Andrade has made great strides despite going through three surgeries repairing torn ACLs; she pushed Biles to do her best.
