As she gears up to lock down a Democratic ticket against Republican nominee Donald Trump, Vice President Kamala Harris is going to be interviewing the finalists for vice presidential running mates this weekend.

According to a trusted source, Harris will be adopting an interview approach with finalists drawn from a group of six potential candidates: Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, U.S Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz), Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Kentucky’s Governor Andy Beshear and Illinois’ Governor J.B Pritzker. All of them have passed through scrutiny by the campaign teams.

Harris officially was made the party’s candidate for president on Friday and will stay in Washington through out the weekend. The number of final candidates she intends to meet remains unknown up until now. The Washington Post was the first to report on Harris’ interviews.

An announcement regarding the vice-presidential nominee is anticipated on Tuesday when she will travel to Philadelphia for a campaign rally accompanied by her choice and begin a series of battles across various states. Speculations surrounding Shapiro who is currently second year governor and ex-attorney general have grown particularly strong because Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes which are very important.

Harris’s campaign has warned against making assumptions too quickly but on Friday, a Harris supporter in Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker released an endorsement video for a Harris-Shapiro ticket which raised eyebrows.

On her way to running for president, she has been able to generate enthusiasm among the Democrats and go beyond what Biden used to poll. While the campaign said that she was able to raise $310 million in July whereas Trump only raised half of that at $139 million in addition to having a total cash balance of over three hundred and seventy-seven million dollars as opposed to trumps’ three hundred and twenty-seven million dollars.
