In the 2024 Paris Olympics, Noah Lyles happens to be among top track athletes from America along with Sha’Carri Richardson. Even before the games began, Lyles had aimed at winning gold medals in all four major sprint events which include: the 100-meter; the 200-meter; the 4×100 meter relay as well as 4×200 meter relay. He began his quest by running the 100 -meter race.
Earlier in that day, Lyles came second in his semifinal heat with only Oblique Seville from Jamaica getting ahead of him. Even though winning was out of question for Lyles at that moment, it was acknowledged that he would still get a strong chance to clinch the gold medal.
In this 100-meter final, Lyles emerged victorious after finishing it off with a time of 9.79 seconds while Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson also finished off with a time of 9.79 seconds but had slower final fraction than Lyle’s who won for America their first gold medal since Justin Gatlin did so in 2004.
Monday marks the day when he will take part in 200 meters heats while on August 8th is when its final will take place.
