Charli XCX and Lorde Seen Together at ‘Brat’ Singer’s Birthday After Alleged Feud

Charli XCX and Lorde made peace with the remix and they celebrated at Charli’s birthday party in Los Angeles on Saturday. The British pop star turned 32 on Friday and the New Zealand songstress were seen having fun at the event after their successful project “Girl, So Confusing”.

People magazine has photographs of this party showing other celebrities including Glen Powell, Nelly Furtado, and Bruce Willis’ daughters Tallulah and Scout. Social media was filled with videos of Charli and Lorde hugging each other while dancing to their own song.

Later to that, Lorde uploaded pictures from that party on her Instagram Stories such as mirror selfie with Charli and Tove Lo as well as a screenshot of her dancing alongside Charli. She wrote alongside it ‘This one is just in the books’.

“Girl, So Confusing” is among Charli’s newest album Brat. Once a solo track, its sincere lyrics talking about rumoured fallout of friendship between them caught fans’ attention. Subsequently; two weeks after its actual release date, they released “Girl So Confusing Version with LORD”; an answer to rumours which seemed to hang heavy around them then.

Surely they possess different styles but Charli has often compared them to Lorde. In ‘Girl so Confusing’, Charli sings about the uncertainties surrounding their relationship: “Sometimes I think you might hate me / Sometimes I wonder if I am also hated.”

Lorde’s part in the remix tells of personal challenges such as body image issues leading her into disordered eating resulting in her separating from friends. She sings; “I was so lost in my mindscapesAfraid to be seen in your photographs / I was entrapped by resentment / And everything seemed lovely on your side / Never once did it cross my mind that my voice could be anywhere there.”

Fans who listened to the remix understood that it mirrored real-time problems like falling apart among friends and miscommunication. According to therapist Molly Zive through a USA TODAY interview, such misunderstandings are common yet they can be overcome through openness. Furthermore she acknowledged Charli and Lorde for making such strong and practical art work.
